    Last Updated: 27 October 2025

These Terms of Service explain how Taletrove works and what you can expect when using our service. By using our website or subscribing to Taletrove, you agree to these terms.

If anything is unclear, please contact us — we're always happy to help.

    1. About Taletrove

Taletrove UK Limited ("Taletrove", "we", "our", "us") is a UK-based subscription service that creates and posts printed family newsletters.

Subscribers send photos and written messages during the month, which we design into a printed newsletter and deliver by post to a chosen recipient.

    2. Who These Terms Apply To

    These terms apply to:

    • Visitors to our website
    • Subscribers to Taletrove
    • Anyone who submits photos or messages for inclusion in a newsletter

By using Taletrove, you confirm that:

    • You are aged 18 or over
    • You have permission to share any content you submit
    • The information you provide is accurate and up to date

    3. Subscriptions & Billing

    • Taletrove operates on a recurring subscription basis (monthly, quarterly or annually).
    • Payments are taken in advance via Stripe.
    • Prices are shown clearly at checkout and include the service described at the time of purchase.
    • You are responsible for keeping your payment details up to date.
    • If a payment fails, we may pause production until payment is resolved.

    4. Cancellations, Refunds & Pauses

    • You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account or by contacting us.
    • Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.
    • Once a newsletter has entered production or been printed, it cannot be refunded.
    • Refunds are not guaranteed and are offered at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.
    • Requests to pause a subscription are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

    5. Our Right to Decline or Cancel a Subscription

While we aim to provide our service to everyone who wishes to subscribe, Taletrove reserves the right to decline a new subscription, or to cancel an existing one, at our reasonable discretion.

We may do this where, for example:

    • A subscriber breaches these Terms of Service
    • The service is being misused, or used for purposes other than personal family use
    • Submitted content is unsuitable, unlawful, or repeatedly breaches our content rules
    • We are unable to fulfil an order for operational, commercial, or delivery reasons
    • We otherwise reasonably consider it necessary

Where we cancel a subscription, we will give you reasonable notice wherever possible, and refund any amount you have paid for newsletters not yet produced — unless the cancellation results from a serious breach of these terms.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

    6. Newsletter Production & Deadlines

    • Each newsletter has a monthly submission deadline, which we communicate clearly.
    • Content received after the deadline may be carried over to the following month.
    • Each newsletter has a maximum content limit (e.g. number of photos/messages). We will let you know if you are approaching this limit.
    • Final layout and design decisions are made by Taletrove to ensure consistency, readability and print quality.

    7. Content You Submit

When you submit photos or messages to Taletrove, you confirm that:

    • You own the content or have permission to share it
    • The content does not infringe copyright, privacy or other rights
    • The content is suitable for family viewing and print

You retain ownership of your content. By submitting it, you grant Taletrove permission to use it solely to create and deliver your newsletter, in line with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to refuse or exclude content that is offensive, unlawful or unsuitable for print.

    8. Storage & Deletion of Content

Our handling of your data and content is explained fully in our Privacy Policy. In summary:

    • Original photos and messages are deleted permanently once the newsletter is printed and dispatched
    • Completed newsletters (PDFs) are stored securely in your Dashboard while your subscription is active
    • After cancellation, newsletters are deleted automatically after 100 days unless you request earlier deletion

We do not reuse, sell or publicly share submitted content without explicit written consent.

    9. Delivery & Postage

    • Newsletters are posted using UK postal services or international services where applicable.
    • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
    • Taletrove is not responsible for delays once an item has been dispatched.
    • Reprints may be offered at our discretion if an item is confirmed lost.
    • You are responsible for ensuring recipient details are accurate and kept up to date.

    10. Recipient Information

    • You must provide correct recipient names and postal addresses.
    • Taletrove is not liable for failed delivery due to incorrect or incomplete address information.
    • If a recipient moves, it is your responsibility to notify us before the next production cycle.

    11. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable and consistent service. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability and may occasionally need to pause or adjust the service for maintenance or operational reasons.

If we are unable to deliver a newsletter for any reason, we will contact you as soon as possible.

    12. Limitation of Liability

    Taletrove is not liable for:

    • Delays outside our reasonable control
    • Indirect or consequential losses
    • Minor errors that do not materially affect the final newsletter

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where doing so would be unlawful under UK law.

    13. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it carefully to understand how we collect, use and protect your information.

    14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.

By continuing to use Taletrove after changes are made, you accept the updated terms.

    15. Recipient photographs and promotional use

Sometimes we may ask whether you would send us a photograph of the person who receives your newsletter (we call them the "recipient"). This is always optional. If you accept, then in return for one free month of your subscription:

    1. You give us permission to use that photograph, along with the recipient's first name, in our marketing and advertising. This includes our social media (such as Facebook and Instagram) and any paid promotion, to show the kind of families Taletrove is made for.
    2. You confirm you are able to give this permission on the recipient's behalf, and that the recipient (or anyone who helps look after their affairs) is happy for their photo to be used in this way. If you are not sure, please do not send one.
    3. We will only ever use it to promote Taletrove kindly and respectfully. We will not sell it, we will not pass it to anyone else for their own use, and we will not share anything about the recipient beyond their first name. We never use photographs of children or other family members for marketing.
    4. You can change your mind whenever you like. Just tell us, and we will stop using the photo in any future marketing and take it down from anything we control. We may not be able to recall material that has already been printed, shared on by other people, or run as part of a finished advert.
    5. The free month is a one-off credit to your subscription and does not change your plan or price. There is no obligation to take part, and saying no will never affect your service.
