Does my relative need a phone, internet or any tech?

Not at all. The whole point of Taletrove is that your relative needs to do nothing. There's no phone, internet, app or account for them to manage. The newsletter simply arrives in the post each month, ready to open and enjoy.

Of course. A sample newsletter is available on our website, so you can see exactly what your loved one will receive before signing up.

Can I give Taletrove as a gift?

Yes, and many families do. Taletrove makes a lovely gift: you sign up and look after everything as the account holder, while your loved one simply receives their newsletter in the post each month. It's a thoughtful present for birthdays, Christmas, or just because.

How does it work?

Any approved family or friends. The main account holder manages contributors. While there's no hard limit, keeping the group manageable tends to be simplest.

Yes! You can add a relative or friend to your account by entering their mobile number or email. Most families find it easiest to create a shared WhatsApp group, so everyone can send content in and keep track of what's been submitted.

Is there a limit to how many photos and messages I can send?

Content is arranged chronologically based on when it's submitted, so there's no formatting or layout to worry about.

How long do I have to submit messages and photos?

You can submit right up until 12:00pm on the 1st of the new month (for example, for the December newsletter, the deadline is 12pm on 1st January).

Can newsletters be sent to care homes or assisted living facilities?

Absolutely. Newsletters can be delivered to any UK postal address, including care homes and retirement settings.

Do you send newsletters abroad?

Yes, newsletters can be posted worldwide. International delivery is your usual subscription plus Royal Mail's international postage, currently £3.60 per newsletter added each month. Ireland and the rest of Europe are at this same rate. The sign-up form is set up for UK addresses, so for an overseas recipient just sign up as normal and your subscription will be updated to include the postage.

Can I send the newsletter to multiple recipients?

Yes. If the newsletter content is the same but the delivery address is different, a discounted rate applies. If both the content and delivery address differ, a separate subscription is needed for each recipient.

When will my first newsletter arrive?

Your newsletter is printed and posted in the first week of the month, after the 12pm deadline on the 1st. It's sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class, which usually takes a few working days once posted, though occasionally a little longer at busy times. Most arrive within the first two weeks of the month.

In the UK, in your choice of two sizes: A5, our handy and letterbox-friendly size, or A4, which is larger with bigger photos and easier-to-read print. You choose your size when you sign up.

Once the deadline passes, your newsletter is designed, printed and posted by Royal Mail 2nd Class, usually arriving within the first two weeks of the new month.

You choose your size and how you'd like to pay. A5 is £7 a month, with your first month half price, or £70 a year. A4 is £9 a month or £90 a year. If your family prefers fewer updates, there's also a quarterly option, one newsletter every three months, starting at £10. You can build your plan and see the exact price on the sign-up page. To send a second copy to a different address, discounted rates apply.

How do I pay?

How does billing work?

You're charged on the same day each month (or year) based on when you first sign up. If you sign up before the 27th, your first newsletter arrives in the first couple of weeks of the next month. If you sign up on or after the 27th, it arrives in the first couple of weeks of the month after next.

You'll be notified and the payment will be attempted again. If it remains unpaid, your subscription may be paused.

What do you do with my data?

Your content is kept secure and never sold. The photos and messages you send in are used only to create that month's newsletter, and are deleted once the edition has been printed and posted. Your finished newsletters stay in your Taletrove account for as long as you're subscribed, so you can view or download them anytime. Who can see the photos and messages we send?

Only the contributors you choose. The account holder adds contributors from their Taletrove account, and only those people can send in photos and messages. Everything sent is used solely to create your family's newsletter. It's never shared publicly or with anyone else, and never sold.

Is Taletrove only for grandparents?

Not at all. Most of our newsletters go to grandparents, but plenty go to mums and dads, aunts and uncles, and old friends. If someone would rather hold something than scroll it, Taletrove works for them.
